Acme Awning Company was founded in 1922 by Carl Rawitzer, son of the first president of what is now the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI). Ownership passed to his son (Al Rawitzer), then to a long-term employee (Ralph Beaver) in 1972. Upon Mr. Beaver's retirement in 1986, Acme Awning Company was acquired by William Fuller. In 2007, Jack Crowley suceeded Mr. Fuller as president although Mr. Fuller will continue on as a consultant for the next 2 years.

Acme Awning Company is engaged in the business of manufacturing and installing custom fabric awnings and canopies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are members of the IFAI, the Professional Awning Manufacturers Association (PAMA) and the Western Canvas Products Association (WCPA). Over the years we have received many awards from the WCPA for projects we have designed, manufactured and installed.

During the mid-1990's we requested an independent company (Valuestar, Inc.) evaluate our Company. They conducted a customer survey and found that we have maintained a high level of customer satisfaction, that our customers will call on us in the future for their awning needs and will refer us to others.

We will continue to evolve as a diversely skilled, fast-moving team of professionals ready to learn from each other and meet whatever challenges our clients may face.
